2016 is a great year to be a creative in Belgrade, Serbia, because not only have we already had a full house at our first UX Belgrade Meetup that took place in April, we are preparing a second UX Meetup on October 20, 5pm, KC Grad. Write the date down in your diary, save it on your phone, stick a post-it on your computer, whatever you do, start counting down the days.
Firstly, we want to thank all of you for making the first meetup memorable, and inspiring us to carry on organizing events like this. A special thank you also goes out to all of our speakers from the first UX meetup, Bojane, Nenade, Petre i Djordje – Hvala! We can promise you an equally exciting programme this time round. More about this to come in a separate post.
Building A Culture Of Idea Sharing
We decided that 6 months is a great timeframe for UX meetups. It gives us all enough time to take back the ideas from the meetup and apply them in our own practise, but also enough time to learn new trade tricks to share with others. The UX industry is a rapidly evolving industry, and this is what makes it particularly exciting.
However, this can at times also make it slightly overwhelming, and it helps to meet up with fellow designers to talk things through. We want these events to be a place for you to be able to freely share and discuss ideas. We aim to create a growing community of creatives that comes together twice a year.
October 20 is a Thursday, and we think the second UX Belgrade Meetup is the perfect way to wine down your week.
It’s important to be in an environment that inspires, and our last meetup was held at Devana Technologies, overlooking the main square. With a view like that it was easy to be inspired.
This time round, we worked hard to find a location that would have the same effect. That’s why we are inviting you to come to KC Grad, the European Centre for Culture and Debate. KC Grad is a creative hub, whose main purpose is to culturally enlighten its visitors. Built in 1884 as a warehouse, after receiving funding and support from the Cultural Front Belgrade and the Amsterdam Felix Meritis Foundation it has been transformed into a safe haven for creatives.
We will be meeting on the upper floor, it houses a large space for exhibitions. In this space our speakers will take to the floor.
See You Soon
We hope to see some of the same faces in October, but also some new ones. We are looking forward to sharing our ideas with you, and growing our community together.
Your UX Belgrade Meetup Team.
